Azurite is a copper carbonate, found with Malachite in weathered layers of copper deposits. In the Middle Ages, Azurite was ground to produce deep blue pigments, as Malachite was used to create rich green hues. Fine specimens come from the U.S. southwest, and Morocco. Metaphysical Properties: Azurite is a “sky stone” and a “third eye” stone. It’s deep blue enables one’s mind to open to intuitive guidance. It helps one become aware of psychic ability. It is a good meditation stone, and can help with telepathic communication and spirit guide contact. Chakra Affiliation: Brow. |
